Trimethyl acetate is a colorless liquid with a special odor, mainly used as a chemical intermediate in the production of pharmaceuticals and pesticides. It is mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry to synthesize drug intermediates such as vitamin BI, vitamin Al, and sulfadiazine; In the agricultural field, it is an intermediate raw material for synthesizing pyrethroids such as cypermethrin and fenpropathrin. At present, the commonly reported production processes for trimethyl acetate are all based on acetonitrile, anhydrous methanol, and dried hydrogen chloride as raw materials. Under the action of solvents, a salt formation reaction is carried out to generate ethyliminomethyl hydrochloride, and then methanol is added for alcoholysis reaction to prepare trimethyl acetate. Among them, the selection of solvents has a significant impact on the reaction process. Low boiling point solvents commonly used in industry, such as n-hexane and carbon tetrachloride, are highly toxic and require a large amount, which is not conducive to saving production costs. Meanwhile, the residual chloride ions in the product affect the purity of trimethyl orthoacetate.
