Price trend
According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the average production price of paraformaldehyde in Shandong on February 24 was 5,600 RMB/ton, and the average price of paraformaldehyde in Shandong on February 1 was 5,533 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.2%.
Analysis review
In February, paraformaldehyde rose first and then fell. On February 22, Linyi Shengyang Chemical Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 9,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, quoted an ex-factory price of 5,800 RMB/ton for paraformaldehyde (96) including tax, and the price was unchanged from last week. Zibo Qixing Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 10,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, quoted a price of 5,200 RMB/ton including tax for paraformaldehyde (96), which was 200 RMB/ton lower than the previous price. Shandong Formaldehyde Industry Chemical Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 30,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, quoted an ex-factory price of 5,800 RMB/ton for paraformaldehyde (96) including tax, which was the same as the previous price. After the Spring Festival, enterprises gradually restarted and resumed work, and downstream enterprises of paraformaldehyde began to purchase one after another, and the market was generally delivered.
According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the average production price of domestic methanol producers was 2,682 RMB/ton on February 1, and the average price of domestic methanol was 2,630 RMB/ton on February 23, down 1.96%. In February, the methanol market first rose and then fell, and the price rebounded again near the end of the month.
Market outlook
The support from raw material methanol is insufficient, and the paraformaldehyde analyst of SunSirs predicts that the price of paraformaldehyde may tend to be weak.
