Properties
Potassium tert-butoxide, an organic strong base, is an important organic base, and its basicity is greater than that of potassium hydroxide. It can be used to catalyze Michael addition reaction, Pinacol rearrangement reaction and Ramberg-BacChemicalbookklund rearrangement reaction; potassium tert-butoxide is used as a condensing agent and can be used to catalyze Darzens condensation reaction, Stobbe condensation reaction; it is also a traditional generation of dihalogenated carbene The most efficient base for the alkoxide-haloform reaction.
