Physical and chemical properties

 

Polyvinylidene fluoride is a semi-crystalline linear polymer, a fluorine-containing polymer formed by the homopolymerization of vinylidene fluoride monomer. Due to the high structural regularity of the PVDF molecular chain and the relatively small radius of the fluorine atom, the carbon-carbon single bond can diversify the geometrical arrangement of the fluorine and hydrogen atoms in space through internal rotation, that is, the molecular segments show different Conformation, resulting in PVDF has more crystal phases, so far reported five crystal forms α, β, γ, δ and ε, but the report on the ε phase is still very few.
