Physicochemical Properties

PBTCA•Na₄ is a low-phosphorus-content scale and corrosion inhibitor. Thanks to its molecular structure containing both phosphonic acid and carboxylic acid groups, it demonstrates excellent performance, particularly in high-temperature environments. Compared to conventional organic phosphonates, it offers superior scale inhibition efficiency.

This product also enhances the solubility of zinc ions, provides strong resistance to oxidative degradation by chlorine, and exhibits excellent synergistic effects when formulated with other agents. However, as a solid, it is hygroscopic and should be stored with care.

Applications

PBTCA•Na₄ is one of the most commonly used components in the formulation of high-performance scale and corrosion inhibitors. Recognized for its exceptional effectiveness, it also serves as an excellent stabilizer for zinc salts.

This product is extensively applied in circulating cooling water systems and oilfield water injection systems for its outstanding scale and corrosion control. It is particularly well-suited for formulations containing zinc salts and copolymers, and performs reliably under demanding conditions such as high temperature, high hardness, strong alkalinity, and high concentration environments.

In addition to its use in industrial water treatment, PBTCA•Na₄ functions effectively as a chelating agent and metal cleaner in the cleaning industry. It is typically used in combination with other water treatment additives, including zinc salts, copolymers, organophosphorus compounds, and azoles, to achieve synergistic results.

Storage/Transport Information

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place and must be refastened after opening.

               Only trained personnel may be allowed to enter the storage area.
